Types of Friends Series Volume 2 (The Misery Lover)

Hi,

It is Monday again. I hope everyone had a great weekend! Are you ready for part 2 of my "Types of Friends" series? Well here it is. Let me know if you recognize this person and how they affect you by leaving a comment on the bottom of the post. It's easy and I love your feedback.

The Misery Lover:

"The Misery Lover is the friend who likes out best when you're down and out. If your dog dies and you lose your job and the new guy in your life doesn't call back -- she's there. But if you get a new dog,new job and new guy,she sort of disappears. If your friend doesn't support your turnaround, it's time to leave her -- and she'll move on to fresh prey."

Sound Familiar,

Susan

My appearance in Forbes Magizine!

Hi-

Sara Eckle wrote an article for Forbes Magizine and she quoted my most recent book "Toxic Friends: The Antidote for Women Stuck in Complicated Friendships". It is a great article and I like the way she writes. Take a look.

Enjoy,

Types of Friends Series Volume 1 (The Leader)

Hi,

I'd like to offer a bit of insight into my research and findings for you to think about during the week. I'm doing a weekly series on all the different types of female friends. I would love to know how these 'Types' fit into your life. So please feel free to add your thoughts by leaving a comment on this blog post. No need to sign up for anything-

The Leader:

"The Leader is the friend we have to have-- she's responsible for our social lives. It's a bad idea to cross her since she's powerful and can turn other friends against you. We've followed a leader since high school and if we're lucky, this leader is a true friend. If she isn't, let's face it, one has to put up with the leader, -- it's the price we pay to belong. However, if you secretly wish your leader has the flu, it's time to cut loose."

Sound Familiar,

Susan

How To Handle Toxic Relationships At Holiday Time

Hi,

Holiday times can be very stressful. Unfortunately having to deal with bad friends can some times distract from exactly how long the turkey needs to cook for. A burnt bird and a confrontational holiday seem all too frequent. So basilandspice.com asked me to weigh in on the subject, so take a look at what I wrote here.

I hope it is helpful,

Susan
